Join the Blackbird Film Festival from Thursday, October 1st to Sunday, October 4th at Greek Peak's newly built Outdoor Cinema Theater for FREE evening screenings of amazing independent short films from around the world, delicious food and drink as well as a fun and unique outing under the stars!

WHERE TO GO?

All evening film screenings will take place at Greek Peak's Outdoor Cinema Theater located at 2000 NY-392, Cortland, NY 13045. Upon arrival, look for large Blackbird signs directing you towards the Outdoor Cinema parking area located near the TRAX Pub & Grill. 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Our Sunset Cinema event is FREE for all to attend! However, there are limited parking spots available at the Outdoor Cinema and so guests are encouraged to arrive early to guarantee a parking spot. WHERE TO STAY?

If you're visiting from out of town or just looking to treat yourself? The Greek Peak Mountain Resort is also a Luxury Hotel and offers many affordable lodging option for guests! Turn your festival weekend into an adventure and enjoy Greek Peak's many amenities, such as an indoor waterpark with heated pools, a mountain roller coaster, outdoor biking trails and even a ropes/zipline adventure course! Guests can even enjoy a 25% discount on their visit!

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Our Sunset Cinema event will function much like a vintage Drive-in Movie Theater. Attendees will be able to park their car in designated spots in front of our large outdoor movie screen, tune their radio to our specific FM radio station and enjoy! Guests are welcome to back their cars into the parking spot, pop the trunk and watch or simply sit comfortably in the front seat. However, it's important to remember that your engines MUST BE TURNED OFF once parked as to avoid polluting the air so be sure to pack warm blankets in case it's cold. WHAT TYPE OF FILMS CAN I SEE?

From Thursday, October 1st to Sunday, October 4th, the Blackbird Film Festival will be screening over 80 short films from around the world in 13 themed screening blocks. Each screening block is approximately 60 minutes long and features 6 - 8 films averaging 10 minutes in length. To decide which Screening Blocks best fit your interested, click the View Film Schedule button below! After each screening block, attendees will be asked to VOTE on which film they enjoyed the most.

WHAT IF I GET HUNGRY?

While guests are welcome to bring snack and drink items from home, we kindly ask that attendees support our event sponsor, Greek Peak during your visit by purchasing snacks from the concession stand or by ordering directly from TRAX Pub & Grill for "car-side" delivery! Please know, guests may NOT bring their own alcoholic beverages. Beer and Wine may be purchased from TRAX 2 GO or at the concession stand.

OUTDOOR CINEMA RULES

 

As with all things, there are rules that must be followed to ensure everyone has a fun and safe evening:

 

  • Guests MUST securely wear a face mask whenever leaving the vicinity of their own vehicle and/or parking spot to prevent the spread of COVID19.

  • All car engines MUST be turned off once a vehicle is parked. Please know that the radio will run on auxiliary power.

  • Guests are NOT allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the theater. Beer and wine may be purchased at the concession stand or from the TRAX 2 GO menu.

  • Guests are asked to refrain from flashing their lights and/or honking their horn during film screenings.

  • Guests are are welcome to sit on or around their vehicle but we ask that guests use caution and be respectful of the other guests viewing areas.
