Overview

Blackbird 2022 featured 136 films selected from a pool of 1196 submissions for an acceptance rate of 11.4%! Additionally, the 2022 edition of Blackbird marked a return to "normality" as the festival returned to the Brown Auditorium Theater at SUNY Cortland after two years of displacement due to COVID19. While the festival was moved outside the academic semester, we saw a wonderful filmmaker turnout and hope restored for the future of Blackbird!
