TRAVEL + LODGING

About the Venue

Brown Auditorium Theater

SUNY Cortland's historic Brown Auditorium Theater has been home to the Blackbird Film Festival since renovations were completed in 2018. The theater seats 500 guests comfortably and boosts a 25' screen with 5.1 surround sound. Located on the main floor in Old Main, the space is perfect for creating the inclusive festival atmosphere Blackbird is known for.

Travel Options

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Blackbird by Air

Visiting from far away? No worries, there are several airports in the central New York area that will get you close to Cortland. However, visitors will likely need to rent a car as the Syracuse and Ithaca airports are still a bit of a distance away from the main festival venue.

NEAREST AIRPORTS:

Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport (30 minutes from Cortland)

Syracuse Hancock International Airport (45 minutes from Cortland)

Greater Binghamton Airport (45 minutes from Cortland)

Greater Rochester International Airport (2 hours from Cortland)

OUR RECOMMENDATION:

We suggest flying into Syracuse (SYR) and renting a car for the weekend. Central New York is somewhat rural and visitors may appreciate having access to a car during their stay. While the Ithaca (ITH) airport is closer, it is much smaller with fewer travel options available.
