EVENT COORDINATOR

Accepting Applications: October 1st - October 20th

Start Date: January 28th 

End Date:  May 7th

Compensation: 3 credits + Blackbird SWAG

Event Coordinators are the wacky-fun face of Blackbird and they work tirelessly to bring the festival weekend to life. From developing community relations, running social media campaigns, coordinating special programming to event setup and director outreach - Blackbird Event Coordinators do it all! If you're an outgoing, self-motivated person who loves working in a team setting then this is the right position for you!

Available Coordinator Working Teams:

  • Viral Marketing & Social Media

    • This team is responsible for brand management, content creation and festival marketing across all social platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

  • Communications & Press Relations

    • This team is responsible for arranging press/media coverage of festival events, films, filmmakers and initiatives in a way that enhances the reputation of the Blackbird Film Festival.

  • Public Relations & Community Development

    • This team is responsible for enhancing Blackbird's relationship with local community organizations by creating, maintaining and promoting positive relationships.

  • Festival Outreach & Engagement

    • This team is responsible for effectively promoting the Blackbird Film Festival to members of the Cortland and college community including students, faculty and staff.

  • Media Promotions & Event Coverage

    • This team is responsible for developing and producing media that promotes the Blackbird brand as well as providing media coverage of the entire festival event.

 

Internship Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled at SUNY Cortland

  • Must attend weekly meetings on campus

  • Must be prompt and professional on email

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Interest in Event Planning, Public Relations or Marketing

  • Outgoing personality
