Overview
Blackbird 2024 featured 102 films selected from a pool of 714 submissions for an acceptance rate of 14.3%! Now three years post-COVID, Blackbird 2024 celebrated its 10th edition with a huge turnout of filmmakers from around the world as well as the return of community members and students! For the first time since its inception, Blackbird 2024 hosted the festival weekend at the start of April (instead of late-April, May or even June) which allowed festival goers to start the spring off with a bang!
Schedule
Blackbird 2024 followed a similar format to Blackbird 2023, kicking off with a special "Rising Star" screening on Thursday, April 11th for students and continuing with 13 additional screenings over the weekend. Additionally, Blackbird 2024 saw the return of the KickOff Party, the Filmmaker Adventure Tour, several workshops as well as the Paint + Sip event!
